The Token now available, plus free stories round up
Horror short now available to order at Black Hare Press
My horror short story The Token has now been released by Black Hare Press, an indie press from Australia - very exciting! Though I had to get used to the different spellings.
You can now download the story as an e-book for £1.99 from Black Hare Press. Here’s a blurb:
Juni’s fresh start in a foreign country is abruptly overshadowed by her eerie discovery of a token with a sinister offer. As she navigates the bureaucratic labyrinth to establish her new life, the token’s menacing power looms large, intertwining her fate with choices that stretch the boundaries of morality and legality.
Set against the stark backdrop of a cold and unwelcoming bureaucratic system, Juni’s struggle for acceptance and identity becomes entangled with the mysterious token’s dark allure. The more she delves into its origins and implications, the more she questions her own values and the very fabric of reality.
A masterful blend of psychological thriller and dark fantasy, presenting a narrative rich with suspense and existential dread.
And to whet your appetite, here are a few of my free stories which you might have missed:
Fear of Flying: One woman’s phobia comes to frightening reality. Is all as it seems?
The Complaint: George is fed up with the delayed bin collection and pens a withering letter to the council, but his attempt to deliver it takes a dark turn.
Not Long Now: Abby is a harassed single mother just trying to get through Christmas, but she’s left gift shopping till the last minute - just how much will it cost her?
What I’m reading at the moment
How to sell a haunted house by Grady Hendrix - dark comic horror about a woman trying to sell her parents’ house, but the house seems like it would rather not be sold. Contains creepy dolls / puppets but the scariest part is the messed up sibling drama.
